
Kyoko Kashiwagi, violin
Kyoko Kashiwagi, was born in Switzerland and raised in Tokyo where she began playing the violin at the age of three. After studying with Koichiro Harada of the Tokyo String Quartet, she came to the United States to continue her studies at the Juilliard School where she studied with Dorothy DeLay and Joseph Fuchs. She also studied in Siena, Italy at the Academia Musicale Chigiana where she earned Artist Diploma.
As a founding member of the three quartets, she has won numerous first prizes at competitions and awards in the United States, Japan, and Canada. She has toured throughout the United States, Canada, Japan, Korea, Australia, Italy, Germany, France, and Switzerland. She has given master classes at Penn States, University of Maryland, SUNY at Buffalo, University of Cincinnati, Kent State University, University of Akron, and New Orleans Center for Creative Arts.
