Radu Popa, conductor, is a native of Bucharest, Romania. After graduating the George Enescu in Bucharest as a pianist he continued his studies at the National University of Music in Bucharest, where he studied composition with Adrian Iorgulescu and conducting with Ludovic Bacs. His conducting debut took place in 1993 with the Otlenia Philharmonic from Craiova, Romania. Since then, Mr. Popa became a frequent guest conductor with all the prestigious Romanian orchestras, including Timisoara, Cluj, Oradea, Arad, Bacau, Ploiesti. He made special recordings with the Bucharest Radio Chamber Orchestra. Mr. Popa is also present internationally, in concert tours and with the Check
orchestra Janacek and the prestigious Janacek Camerata with which he participate in the production of the Magic Flute project with an international cast. In 2004 Radu Popa had his debut with the Bucharest Philharmonic Orchestra on the prestigious and historical stage of the Romanian Athenaeum.
